Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

PantryFinder is a free public directory operated as a non-commercial information service. We have intentionally designed the site to collect as little information about visitors as possible. This page explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit any page on PantryFinder, our servers record standard request logs — the URL you accessed, the date and time of the request, your approximate location based on IP address, the browser and operating system you're using, and the page you came from. These logs are used to monitor performance, detect abuse, and produce aggregate traffic reports. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.

Cookies

PantryFinder does not set tracking cookies, fingerprinting scripts, or session-recording software. The only cookies that may appear in your browser are those set by our advertising partner (see below) and a single session cookie used by your browser to remember whether you've dismissed our cookie banner. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site tracking tool.

Advertising

We display a small number of clearly labeled advertisements on most pages. These ads are served by third-party networks (currently Google AdSense or equivalents) which may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads relevant to your interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com. We do not share any personally identifying information with our ad network — they only see what their own cookies record.

Information you provide us directly

If you email us a listing suggestion, a correction, or a partnership inquiry, we keep the email and any information in it for as long as we need it to act on the request, plus a reasonable archive period of two years. We do not sell, rent, or share email contact information with anyone.

Children's privacy

PantryFinder is intended for general audiences and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please email privacy@pantryfinder.example and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Even though we collect almost nothing, residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, the European Union, and the United Kingdom have a legal right to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you, request that we delete it, or opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do neither). Email privacy@pantryfinder.example with your request and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for at least 30 days.
